What is a small group?
A small group is 8-12 people who meet weekly for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. Small groups meet at various times during the week, usually for 1-1/2 hours. We have groups meeting most evenings and on Sunday mornings. We have small groups for all ages and stages of life: singles, married couples, men, women, and senior adults.
Why small groups?
Small groups are the best way for people to become connected at Copperfield Church and grow in their faith. Small groups are a place where you can be in relationship with other people who are asking the same questions you're asking and facing the same kinds of challenges you're facing. In your group, you will have an opportunity to establish friendships, find out what the Bible teaches us about our purpose and discover how to live the life we were created for.
How long do small groups stay together?
Some groups are ongoing. Other groups meet for a limited time, which can vary from 13 weeks to 2 years. Members joining existing groups can "try out" a group for a study before committing to the group for the remaining time the group is together. At the end of one to two years, the goal of each group is to launch at least one new group in order to grow and connect with people.
What about my children?
We offer childcare for groups that need it. Whether they are meeting on or off-campus. On Sunday mornings, children participate in our Electric Company, SparkZone and PowerStation programs. On Wednesday nights, there is a place for your children in AWANA. On other weeknights and Sunday nights, Connection Zone will be open for pre-K through 5th grade. Connection Zone is a place where kids connect through play. It offers Xbox, Playstation 2, Foosball, Air Hockey, crafts, and a moonwalk. Your kids will want you to come to small group! Quality childcare is also provided for children birth through three at the same time.
Take our Small Group Interest survey and we will contact you with details of any group or groups that may fit your availability and stage of life. If there is nothing to fit you right now, we will let you know and contact you as new groups begin to form.
